5 Blocks of Happiness is a Cozy Diorama Builder Inspired by New Parenthood
A solo developer has announced 5 Blocks of Happiness, a charming management game about building a thriving community around a growing family, with a demo arriving for Steam Next Fest.
A new cozy management game, 5 Blocks of Happiness, is on the horizon, channeling the heartfelt experience of new parenthood into a charming diorama town builder. The game, developed by a solo creator, invites players to cultivate a supportive neighbourhood just in time for a baby’s arrival, and a demo is set to launch during the upcoming Steam Next Fest.
The narrative begins with Clementine, the main character, facing strict bed rest during her pregnancy. In response, her husband Julian makes a significant life change—selling his car, quitting his city job, and opening a small neighbourhood shop. Players are tasked with assisting Julian in building a robust and happy community to support their expanding family.
Gameplay revolves around managing daily finances, fulfilling specific cravings from neighbours, and maintaining the town’s average Happiness above 50% to attract new residents. This blend of economic management and community building aims to offer a gentle yet engaging experience.
The developer has highlighted the diorama art style, inviting players to share their thoughts on the visual presentation. While a full release is slated for later this year, hopeful players won't have to wait long to get hands-on, as the demo for 5 Blocks of Happiness will be available starting June 15th as part of Steam Next Fest.
