Cubalance Arrives on Steam

A solo developer has taken to Reddit to share their excitement as their game, Cubalance, officially goes live on Steam. To celebrate this milestone, they've 3D printed the game's little cube protagonists and plan to print more based on the number of wishlists the game receives during its first week.

Cubalance is a physics-based arcade puzzler inspired by the 2000 cult classic Swing, with the developer putting their own twist on the game mechanics. Players match colors on a board made of seesaws that adapt to the weight of the cubes, with the goal of increasing their score and level. The game will feature multiple modes, including Endless, Adventure, and Local Multiplayer, as well as a built-in level editor.

The developer has made a deal with their husband to print one cube for every wishlist the game gets during its first week, excluding those from friends. They're hoping to print at least 15 more cubes, which would fit on the game's 'pipe-like' seesaw. The community can help the developer achieve their goal by checking out the Steam page and wishing for the game.

The developer will post a follow-up photo next week to show the final result of their 'Army of Wishlists' and is excited to share their passion project with the gaming community. With its unique mechanics and nostalgic inspiration, Cubalance is certainly a game to keep an eye on in the coming weeks.

As the game moves forward, it will be interesting to see how the community responds to Cubalance and whether the developer will reach their goal of filling their office with a sea of plastic cubes. For now, players can visit the Steam page and wishlist the game to help make that vision a reality.
