Everfront Announced
Solo dev's real-time roguelike with unique territory control mechanic coming to Steam in November 2026
Everfront, a real-time roguelike game, has just been announced by a solo developer based in Gothenburg, Sweden. The game, which has been in development for two years, features a unique twist on traditional roguelike gameplay: instead of micromanaging individual units, players command an expanding territory that grows, fights, and yields in real time.
The game includes six doctrines - Focus, Blitz, Entrenchment, Avoidance, Terrain, and Naval - which allow players to reshape their gameplay experience. Maps are procedurally generated, offering a high level of replayability. The developer has opted to use Godot 4.5 as the game engine and has not utilized any AI tools in the creation of the game's art, audio, or trailer.
Everfront is currently listed as 'Coming Soon' on Steam, with a planned release date of November 2026. Players can already visit the game's Steam page, as well as the official website and Discord channel, to learn more about the game and get involved with the community.
The announcement of Everfront has generated interest among the indie gaming community, with 32 upvotes and 13 comments on the Reddit post. As the game's release date approaches, it will be interesting to see how it is received by players and critics alike.
