A personal story of loneliness and anxiety, Last Guest is a short but unusual game that builds tension through atmosphere and dialogue

Last Guest, the debut game project from its solo developer, is a thought-provoking exploration of loneliness and anxiety that unfolds in silence. Rather than relying on jump scares, the game builds a sense of unease through its atmosphere, dialogue, and subtle hints that something is not quite right.

The game strips away traditional action and mechanics, focusing instead on conversations, pauses, and tension. Players must piece together the meaning behind the characters' words, as they do not provide direct answers. The concierge, for example, appears helpful but issues a cryptic warning: do not go near room eight. The choice of how to proceed is left to the player.

While the game is short, its impact lingers. The developer's goal was to create an "aftertaste" – a sense of unease and questions that persist even after the game has ended. Those interested in experiencing Last Guest for themselves can find it on Steam.
