A new 2D co-op game about treasure hunting and submarine adventure, now in playtest on Steam
Salty Dogs, a 2D co-op game, has launched its first playtest on Steam. Developed by an independent studio, the game revolves around four fluffy divers and their submarine, as they explore the ocean to hunt for treasure and catch sea creatures.
At the core of Salty Dogs is teamwork and chaos, where each player has a distinct role — piloting the sub, managing energy, using the harpoon, or watching the radar. As players dive deeper into the ocean, the environment becomes more treacherous, and the finds become more valuable. However, the added cargo can slow down the submarine, leading to tense moments.
The game aims to provide a mix of calm and chaotic experiences, from shallow runs to deep zones where panic and shouting in voice chat are common. The developers are continuously updating the game with new creatures, events, and upgrades to create a co-op adventure filled with stories, not stress.
Currently in playtest, Salty Dogs is free to play on Steam, offering players a chance to experience the game's unique blend of exploration, teamwork, and excitement.
