Veteran Game Artist Tucho Launches Solo Debut, Centipede Simulator, on Steam
After years in the industry, veteran game artist Tucho has officially launched Centipede Simulator, marking his first full release as a solo developer.
Long-time game artist Tucho has officially launched his debut solo project, Centipede Simulator, which is now available on Steam. After contributing to over 20 released titles across AAA, AA, and indie sectors on PC, console, and mobile, Tucho decided to tackle all aspects of game development on his own.
The journey to solo creation began about a year and a half ago. Tucho initially focused on building a series of small prototypes, eventually settling on what started as a simple Snake clone. However, as he continuously added new twists and features, the project organically evolved into something far more substantial than a mere learning exercise.
During its early development, Tucho and his partner found themselves genuinely enjoying the game, a key indicator that it had potential beyond a prototype. This personal enjoyment spurred the decision to fully flesh out the project, culminating in its recent release as his inaugural solo endeavor.
Centipede Simulator offers players multiple game modes, full controller support, and even couch co-op with split-screen functionality for shared local play. Visually, the game aims for a unique perspective with “realistic graphics” that immerse players in the world from a bug’s point of view, complemented by procedural animations that lend lifelike responsiveness to centipedes, prey, and predators alike.
Players interested in experiencing this unique take on a classic concept can find more details, including a launch trailer and feature list, on the game’s official Steam page.
